Rev. Lawrence Bills, III was born in 1960 to Lawrence Bills, II and Harenia Bills. Lawrence was a child that needed a lot of prayer. He was often in trouble. He was expelled from two schools before he was enrolled in the L. B. Ames Christian Academy. At Ames Christian Academy, Lawrence met Rev. Arthur Currey, who was a teacher at the school. Rev. Currey had a lasting affect on Lawrence. Lawrence turned his life around and accepted Christ as his Savior in 1974. Lawrence was always popular. He was always the life of the party. This would help him in his future ministry. In 1977, Lawrence was called into the ministry. In 1978, Lawrence was ordained as a minister. Rev. Bills attended Kovach University in Dorinda, Maddocha. While there, he ministered to many of the students on campus. It was at Kovach University where he met Danetra Adkins. She was the leader founder of the DM Chorale. Rev. Bills began hanging out with the choir. When the group signed a deal with Mo'Sound Gospel Records, Rev. Bills wrote songs for the group. This lead to Rev. Bills being able to write songs for other groups that include the Shades and 4 Females With A Vision. God is continuing to open doors Rev. Bills. After graduating from college in 1983, Rev. Bills returned to Wyman with his wife Anita Bills. Rev. Bills and his wife united with Greater Faith Church. Rev. Bills became active in the youth ministry. Rev. Bills was appointed as the director of the youth ministry in 1987. The youth ministry has grown greatly since Rev. Bills was made the director. Rev. Bills travels as an evangelist all over the state. He speaks at youth conventions, youth revivals, and conferences. |
